Product Description
A beignet (pronounced "beign-yay") is a pastry made from deep-fried dough and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Beignets are often found in, and typically associated with, the city of New Orleans, in places like Café Du Monde in the French Quarter.
If you ever go to Café Du Monde, you should get an order of beignets with extra powdered sugar, pretend to have to sneeze and then blow the powdered sugar all over your little brother or sister. They'll hate it, but you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself. And when they grow up, they'll pass the tradition along to their kids.
"Beign-Yay" is a Storyville Original, featuring artwork by LSU alumna Elizabeth Harvey. The "Beign-Yay" concept was the product of Texas State student Sara Ruffin and William & Mary student Bailey Thomson.
"Beign-Yay" is printed on a grass green-colored, 100% cotton American Apparel onesie with white and gold inks. Click here to see "Beign-Yay" on a t-shirt.
